I am very proud of this volume. 15 of my best stories, to celebrate 15 years pro publishing in the spec-fic biz. Including some old favorites like “Ray of Light” and “Outbound” as well as stories which have never before been collected anywhere, such as “Purytans.” Stories from Analog magazine. Also Orson Scott Card’s Intergalactic Medicine Show. To name just two publications.

As I wrote in the Acknowledgments: this is my first softcover and hardback (and e-book!) collection I’ve done under my own label, using everything I’ve learned about this Wild West of publishing we now inhabit in the 21st century.

A heap’s changed about the industry since I broke in, in 2010. The Old Way of doing things isn’t dead yet, but it’s been pushed to the side by the New Way. And the New Way is authors taking command of their own product, via their own Amazon releases. So, I go where the market goes. And I count myself fortunate to have come in right before the Old Way became completely obsolescent. A career genuinely bridging the Old to the New.

As for the future? I’ve got several projects I’m laboring to complete for Baen, as well as two other imprints who’ve approached me in the past. And I have a completely independent project I want to put to market under my own steam. So as to ensure I’ve got a foot in several places and several spaces. So, I’ll be sure to update the blog accordingly as progress and releases occur over the next 18 months. I’ve very excited about it all.
